Sapori e Saperi Adventures (flavours and knowledge) offers escorted tours for curious travellers and intensive courses for food professionals and keen amateurs. We whisk you away from the crowded cities deep into the countryside to enjoy the hidden rural culture of Italy.

When I launched Sapori e Saperi 20 years ago, we made food the centrepiece of our tours, partly because life in Italy revolves around the kitchen table, but also because we believe you are what you eat, and what you choose to eat shapes the future of the world. Our approach is simple: respect for the land, for the people who make it productive and for the traditions that preserve rural knowledge.

As we searched for farmers and producers of traditional products, we also found craftspeople, art, architecture and music undiscovered by tourists and often even by their Italian neighbours. These have become part of our tours and courses.

We offer you the rare opportunity to learn with Italian farmers and artisans who welcome you to their workshops and homes. They’re eager to exchange views and enrich their knowledge and yours. As we explore together, you’ll discover the heritage of the countryside tucked away behind unmarked doors in beautiful remote places. You’ll be surprised and enchanted.
